EN: In Finitum consists of tone material and its inversion from my piece Fragments from the blue sky for solo piano. Two main principles of this piece are endless canons separated by Interludium, in which elements from both canons are merged. The philosophy behind this piece is the word if. If Interludium was to be interpreted in retrograde, the metamorphosis would be obvious. Under these circumstances we can’t surely separate the attributes of all individual contrasts, we can’t even separate any contrast alone. We seem to be moving forward while standing still. We‘re unable to see beyond an endless barrier and the stillness seems permanent. What happens if we truly move, if we make one move after another? The greatest fear is Infinitum – a cycle, which could be definitive. Now, I’m not sure whether to dedicate this piece to you or to myself.

SK: Skladba In Finitum vychádza z tónového priestoru prvej časti mojej klavírnej skladby Fragments from the blue sky a jeho inverzie. Dva nosné piliere skladby spočívajú v nekonečných kánonoch oddelených Interludiom. V Interludiu sa spájajú prvky z oboch kánonov. Filozofiou celej skladby je slovo keby. Keby sme Interludium interpretovali v račom postupe, premena by bola viditeľná. Za týchto okolností však nevieme s určitosťou rozlíšiť atribúty jednotlivých kontrastov, nevieme ani rozlíšiť kontrast samotný. Máme pocit že sa hýbeme a pritom zostávame stáť na mieste. Nie sme schopní vidieť za tú nekonečnú bariéru a zotrvávanie je zdá sa konečné. Čo sa však stane keď sa naozaj pohneme? Keď urobíme prvý krok, za ktorým by sme mohli urobiť sériu ďalších? Najväčší strach je Infinitum - cyklus, ktorý by mohol byť konečný. Teraz však neviem či tú skladbu venujem Tebe alebo skôr sebe.
